Pen Pals from Another World

Springfield

I got some letters from Springfield, a Mennonite colony in Belize.
They were so heartfelt and open. In one of them, a woman gently admonished me for traveling with men. I know it is difficult for them to see "worldly" people like me as true Christians, and I wanted to convey to her that purity is a high standard of mine also. So I thought about writing "I too want to save kissing for marriage." I read this to my parents, and my mom thought the word "kiss" might be indecent for them. We started coming up with all kinds of things I could say, but it was just getting funnier and funnier.

In the end, I settled for one of my dad's suggestions: Ich bin immer noch nicht verheiratet und bete das Gott zur seiner Zeit, mir eine Familie schenkt. Bin euch dankbar wenn ihr auch fur mich betet.

Basically, boldly asking them to pray for me.
